Pain and the Opioid Epidemic
Presenter: Alana Whittaker, PharmD, BCPS, is an Associate Professor of Pharmacy Practice at Roseman University of Health Sciences and received her Doctor of Pharmacy from Howard University, Washington, DC. She completed her Pharmacy Practice Residency at Sentara Healthcare in Norfolk, VA and her Internal Medicine Specialty Residency at Seton Family of Hospitals/University of Texas at Austin in Austin, TX. She has a practice site at Valley Hospital in Las Vegas, NV where she rounds with an Internal Medicine team.

This presentation will focus on pain and its treatment with special emphasis on opioids; it will further delve into the growing opioid epidemic and its implications on practice and society.
