Description: HCV Can Be Cured: Overview of Guidelines for Screening and Treatment of HCV in the age of Direct Acting Antivirals webinar presented by AAOHN and supported by a grant from the National Viral Hepatitis Roundtable (NVHR) will be presented by Miranda Surjadi, RN, MS, ANP-BC. This webinar will provide healthcare providers with an overview of Hepatitis C Virus (HCV): current screening recommendations, evaluation, and treatment of chronic HCV. Ms. Surjadi will review Guidelines provided by the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases and the Infectious Diseases Society of America (AASLD – IDSA) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Participants will gain a better understanding of HCV disease and how more screening and new all-oral treatment medications will increase cure rates of HCV.

Presenter: Miranda Surjadi, RN, MS, ANP-BC has been volunteer faculty since 2006 at UCSF’s School of Nursing Community Health Systems Department and joined the clinical faculty team in the Adult Gerontology Nurse Practitioner (AGNP) Program full-time in 2014.  Her primary roles in the AGNP program comprise of formal teaching responsibilities, leadership responsibilities, and clinical teaching responsibilities. Since 2006, her clinical activities have been in the Hepatology clinic at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital (ZSFG).  She evaluates, manages, and treats patients with liver disease, with a focus in viral hepatitis (hepatitis C and hepatitis B).
