Developing a Model Undergraduate Curriculum in
Environmental and Occupational Health and Safety

Bert Schiller, CIH
Adjunct Instructor, Madonna University, Livonia, MI

Bert editingVisiting Partner Bert Schiller recognized the need for industry to have professionals who have a broad knowledge base in environmental science as well as in occupational safety and health. He determined that there were few, if any, colleges or universities in Michigan that provide an undergraduate curriculum that balances coverage of both of these important areas. With input from faculty at both the University of Michigan and Madonna University, Bert developed a more balanced undergraduate curriculum which he hopes to one day implement.
