Empowering the Occupational Health Nurse; Business Partner and Health and Safety Advocate in the Workplace

Description

OHN’s often serve in leadership roles and are expected to serve as business partner and health provider within an organization without formal business or safety training. In their role as an OHN, they expand a department/clinic or develop a new process/standard regarding health and safety for their employers. This course will provide skills, education, and tools/resources to empower the OHN to serve as business partner and health/safety advocate in their workplace.

Presenter

Amy Dailey RN, MSN, COHN-S/CM, CHSP is the Director, Colleague Health and Safety for Mercy Health System and St. Mary Medical Center/Trinity Health. She has a background in public & occupational health nursing spanning many areas. Her experience includes health & safety, sexual assault nurse examiner, violence prevention, public health preparedness and emergency management. For over 10 years she has worked with teams to develop policy, protocols, and training for workers and the community surrounding public health preparedness. Currently, she is working on a regionalization project for several area hospitals.
