AAOHN Webinar: Management of Bloodborne Pathogen Exposures: A Quality Improvement Project

Providers who are new to occupational health or do not regularly encounter bloodborne pathogens (BBP) often do not understand the process of how to properly evaluate and treat them when they occur. Current guidelines indicate CDC recommendations should be followed, but those are often hard to locate and interpret in the moment. In this session, you’ll learn why the national rate of bloodborne pathogen exposures is unclear, what bloodborne pathogens need to be evaluated when an exposure occurs, and why early identification and management of a bloodborne pathogen exposure is critical to reducing conversion to HIV.
