People expect the outcomes of implementing our environmental laws to be equitable health protection for workers and the public from environmental harms. Yet, key components of risk evaluations seem complex and thus inaccessible to the public. Recently amended, Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) is an important occupational health statute; but its authorities to reduce health disparities up-stream at the source haven’t been fully utilized and occupational health professionals haven’t fully engaged. Our engaging speakers will present case study risk assessments to illustrate key points in an easy-to-understand manner to help de-mystify risk assessment concepts.
