This webinar will explore the impact of historical, sociocultural, and economic inequalities on the percentage of African American Women entrepreneurs in the Safety, Construction, and Consulting Field. Qualitative and quantitative analysis will be leveraged to describe why discrepancies exist, examine current conditions in the United States, and to offer possible solutions to mitigate these disparities.

A certified expert in Construction and Environmental and Occupational Health & Safety (EOHS), Crystal Turner-Moffatt is a Leadership and Possibility Coach, Trainer, Author, Speaker, Panelist, and Professional Consultant in the field of EHS. She is “The Safety Diva ™” because EH&S is her passion. As an EHS subject matter expert she has worked in multifaceted environments for over 25 years. Raised in Harlem, NY, Crystal has broken down barriers in the safety and construction industry. As a woman of color working in a male-dominated field, Crystal is proud to be a trailblazer. Crystal is CEO of CDT EHS Consulting LLC, a MWBE firm established in 2007. As a bridge to safety success, CDT EHS Consulting LLC and The Safety Diva’s ™ Academy offer expert, passionate consultation. Crystal is a Ph.D. student at Capitol Technology University. Crystal studied for her MS at Hunter College in EOHS. She has a BA in Psychology from Wesleyan University, and a Bioterrorism Preparedness Certificate from Hunter College CUNY. Crystal authored “The Power of Mentorship-Strengthening Women in Leadership Roles,”. She is a professional member of ASSP, AIHA, and is a Founding Board Member of The USCBWB U.S. Coalition of Black Women Businesses, advocating for the power of SHEE (Social, Health, and Economic Equity).
