Nurse Practitioners have been a part of primary care and wellness services for more than 40 years. Blending a focus on nursing roles of health promotion and risk reduction with managing common acute and chronic illness and injury, nurse practitioners work in many occupational health sites. Drawing on her experience as both a nurse practitioner and clinical specialist in occupational health settings around the country, Dr Sampson will present an overview of occupational health practice and the use of nurse practitioners.
